Jordon Anderson, LICSW, CST | Clinician
Jordon is an Licensed Independnt Social Worker. They graduated from Simmons Univieristy Master of Social Work Program. Jordon is a couples, family, and individual therapist. They are also an AASECT certified Sex Therapist.
Jordon Anderson believes that because people are defined by their relationships, relationship-based therapy has a better chance of success. Getting the best understanding of a client means getting to know the people around them. Having a broader context helps identify issues and treat them. Jordon utilizes various theoretical approaches to inform their position based on what is most appropriate for the individual(s).
My therapeutic method often involves a consent-based collaborative approach. I start a dialog by gaining my clients’ consent to offer an interpretation of the issues that they might be facing. I might also attempt different techniques such as practicing secure attachment styles or reparenting. My goal is to help clients expose and confront the problems that may be holding them back.
Lastly, I think that therapy is allowed to be playful. My clients face issues including gender identity, intergenerational trauma, and sexual challenges – or systemic conflicts such as transphobia, fatphobia, racism, and disability. These are weighty concerns, but I find that my approach helps to remove the fear that comes with confronting them.
