Presented by: Evelyn Resh, CNM, MPH, CSC-S, MSN

Human physiology is at the core of sexual functioning, regardless of gender identification. However, socio-cultural and personal factors such as religion, erotic identity and mapping and health status can strongly influence and/or dismantle engagement and function. This course will first review human physiology as it relates to sexual arousal, erectile function, ejaculation and female orgasm. We will then explore the most common endogenous factors that can alter or interrupt physiological function, resulting in disengagement, disinterest and feelings of sexual dissatisfaction. An enhanced understanding of human physiology will help you triage the etiology of sexual problems that patients present with. The emphasis will be on a pleasure-based, whole-body experience of sex versus a performance-based model.

This course meets the criteria for the following Core Knowledge Content Areas: G, H, I
