History of the Discipline of Sex Therapy

This class will explore themes relevant to sex therapy practice with trans clients using the example of three famous, or infamous, individuals. Together we will go back in time and ask eerily relevant questions touching on power, privilege, iatrogenic harm, embodiment, freedom, connection, and community. Participants will gain an understanding of how these ideas shaped, and continue to shape, how therapists understand their roles and responsibilities. This applies not only to the people in their office, but also to those who will eventually measure our own actions in the future.

Join us via Zoom to view this training. Participants must register for class by 5pm the day before. In order to receive CEUs, you must complete the evaluation form that will be sent to you.

This program meets the requirements for the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) and is approved for 3 CE credits for each course.
