From trying to conceive to the years postpartum, the couple undergoes a dramatic transformation that often includes navigating grief, expansion, loss or lack of control and a complete and dramatic transformation of the relationship system at large, all within a few years time. At some point in this development, partners encounter what is frequently the first major “interruption” to their established and practiced sexual script, destabilizing the sexual system and the intimacy built within it. Ill equipped to attend to these changes, the sexual relationship can struggle to evolve alongside the partnership, leading to feelings of frustration, pressure, loss, and consequently, elusive or mismatched desire. This course examines the various themes commonly encountered at each stage and how to both protect the intimate life of the couple and also equip the partners with the individual and relational skills required to co-create an approachable sexual relationship that moves and shifts alongside them in this chapter and beyond.
This course meets the criteria for the following Core Knowledge Content Areas: B, G, H
Join us via Zoom from 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm Eastern Standard Time. Participants must attend in full to be eligible to receive CE credit for the course. This course is only available to attend live, and will not be recorded for later viewing.
